Sainte-Chapelle (anglais)

Upper Part of The Sainte-Chapelle

The Sainte-Chapelle, which is no longer used as a place of worship, is regularly used as a concert hall.
However, several times a year, religious ceremonies are organized there by the lawyers, in particular for Saint Yves' day, and also by the Catholic association of magistrates and civil servants of the Law Courts.

The upper Part

View of the upper part of the Sainte-Chapelle, the vaulted ceiling is painted in azure blue with constellations of stars. We can see the stained-glass windows lit by the rising sun.

The lower part

View of the lower part of the upper chapel of the Sainte-Chapelle built on request from the king Saint-Louis from 1245 to 1248. At the back, we can see the reliquary (now empty) which is accessed via two narrow staircases.
